Travis Walton Abduction Case
What Really Happened
Back

Thanks to the film, "Fire in the Sky", we know the beginnings of the story of what happened in early November of 1975. The story of what Travis Walton and the men he was working with in the northeastern mountains of Arizona went through. But what that movie put forth about what happened to Walton over the 5 days he was missing is pure Hollywood. What you are about to read is what really happened.

When Walton awoke after an undetermined amount of time, all he knew was severe pain in his entire body. Using the pain control he learned from karate, he was able to minimize the pain. Now with a clear mind he was able to think. But try as he might he could not remember what had happened. He then struggled to open his eyes but his vision was just a blur. After awhile his vision cleared and he looked around the room. That's when the memory of seeing the UFO above him became clear. The beam of blue light hitting him in the chest, flying through the air, landing on the ground. All came flooding back to him.

The next thing that came to mind was that he was in the hospital and severely injured. He tried to get up from the table and to speak, but could do neither. He then relaxed thinking that he would let the doctors worry about what was wrong with him. He would just concentrate on getting better. That's when he noticed a weight on his chest. Looking down his body he saw his shirt and jacket pushed up and a strange device laid on him. This device went from his armpits to below his beltline and half way down both of his sides. It appeared to be made of either a shiny plastic or metal.

Looking over the top of this device his vision blurred once again. He could vaguely make out the shapes of people standing over him. There was one on the left and two on the right of him. As his vision started to clear once more, he perceived these people to be doctors, with white masks and caps. But the rest of their attire was of an unusual color of orange. He could not feel them doing anything at all to his body. That made him wonder what they were doing, and how seriously he was injured. Suddenly his vision cleared completely and for the first time he could see the face of the figure standing over him, and with a shock, he realized he was not in a hospital. For he was looking into the face of what he called a "horrible creature." That's when he figured out that he was onboard their craft.

After pushing one of the two creatures on his right into the other, he forced himself up to a sitting position. Then up on his feet, he stumbled into a counter with various utensils. Looking for something to defend himself from the advancing creatures, he grabbed what looked like an eighteen inch long glass rod. Thinking that he needed something with a pointed end, he tried to break it on the table. But it would not break. While he held the rod like a baseball bat, the creatures stopped their advance. In that time when they were face to face, Walton got his first real look at them. He describes them as the typical gray. What he thought were caps and medical masks were their hairless heads and pale faces. They stood just less than five feet in height, wearing a one-piece coverall like clothing of an orange-brown color. But the feature that bothered him the most was their eyes. He couldn't take his gaze from them. He felt like they were looking right through him, making him feel fully exposed. In his words, "Those eyes were the creepiest, most frightening things I had seen in my entire life."

As Walton was trying to figure out how he was going to get past the creatures and out the door, with out a single word, sound, or signal between them, what they did next took Walton by surprise. They just turned and hurried out the door. In relief, he leaned against the counter to catch his breath and take a look at his surroundings. While looking for something with which he could defend himself better, with he noted the size, shape, and features of the room. Finding nothing to use as a weapon, he dropped the rod to the floor. At that point he got to thinking, what if they come back? What if they bring more with them? What if they went to get weapons?

As fast as he could he left the room and turned the opposite direction that the creatures had. He ran down a passageway that curved to his right. After passing several doors on his right, he slowed down to a walk so he could think. Coming to the next door, he looked into the room. The room was dome shaped with one chair facing away from the door. He slowly approached the chair for fear that it would be occupied. Finding it empty he got closer to it, and as he did so the room light dimmed. The walls and ceiling changed to show a star field. Noting what he assumed to be controls on the arms of the chair, with buttons, a lever, and what appeared to be a screen, he tried pushing some of the buttons and noticed lines on the screen shifting position but nothing else. Sitting down in the chair, he tried the lever. Pushing it forward moved the star field forward rotating the T of the handle rotated it. Getting up out of the chair Walton stood looking at the buttons he had not tried.

Hearing a faint sound, he turned around to see a man standing in the doorway. The man was tall, well proportioned, and athletic looking. He wore a helmet on his head and a tight fitting one-piece suit that was blue in color, a black belt, and black boots. The first thing Walton felt was relief, thinking the man may either be from the Air Force or NASA and was there to rescue him. The man motioned for Walton to follow. Without a second thought, Walton followed all the while asking a wealth of questions and receiving no answers. The man silently led the way to what Walton describes as an airlock. Once out the airlock, they descended a steep passageway and down to a ramp. At the bottom of the ramp, he noticed that they were in an extremely large room. While walking through this room, he noticed six craft sitting along with the one they had just exited. The man led him through a door on the other side of the room, into another passageway. There were many doors along this passageway and a door at the end. On the other side of the door was a room with a table and chair. But that's not what caught his attention. There were three other humans in the room standing around the table, one woman and two men dressed, with the exception of the helmet, like the man who had led Walton out of the craft. All four of them looked like they were of the same family, with the same features and hair color. No matter how many questions he asked or which person he asked, none of them would answer.

The man who led him there sat him down in the chair, turned and left the room leaving him alone with the other three. One man and the woman came to him, one on each side, and taking him by the arms led him to the table. All the time Walton was asking what was going on and what they wanted him to do. He started to resist them but all three of them forced him to lie on the table. That's when he noticed the woman had something in her hand. The object looked like an oxygen mask with a small black ball on it. She put it to Walton's face. He tried to push it away but before he could, he started to lose consciousness. The next thing he knew, he was waking up on the road west of Heber, Arizona.

Now you know roughly the true story of what happened to Travis Walton. Of course I have had to condense to the few meager paragraphs you have just read due to space constraints. So I suggest you either find a copy of the book, "Fire In The Sky The Walton Experience", or go to Travis Walton's web site at http://www.travis-walton.com/ I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this and learn for yourself what really happened. All I ask is that when you see a movie that claims to tell the true story about anything, please enjoy the movie. But after that, take some time to learn the real story behind the movie. You just may be surprised at what you will learn. I would also like to thank Mr. Travis Walton for writing his book and telling the true story, and for him being a guest on the Wake up USA a UFO Study radio program and letting the listeners ask him so many questions about what happed to him. Without
both of these references, this piece would not have been possible.
